Tea anyone?

I am excited to say that i attended the local tea party here in Amarillo, Texas. Wow!! What a sight!! There were over 300 people in attendance at the parking lot of the local Post Office of which I work. People coming in to send off their last minute taxes and have their voices be heard.



My sister is a staunch Obama supporter. She had her "I Support Obama" poster ready. But the Obama supporters were in short supply. Hey!! I am in TEXAS. lol The mere fact that there were so many ppl willing to show up and show support on a single issue, be it for or against, was the amazing thing. When is the last time a group of Americans showed up to show support for anything? Usually we are just sitting back and letting others voice our opinions for us. This was a clear cut and dry stance against the budget plan Obama has set forth. I for one am tired of bailing out multi-million dollar companies so they can go on spa retreats!! T.E.A Taxed Enough Already alright!!



The tea parties were to get across the message that we don't want socialism in our country. Don't fool urselves into thinking that health care for all is a great thing. That means more taxes and government deciding who does and does not get health care!!! If you're in your late years (60's and higher) you will not be getting that hip replacement you need. That would only be for the younguns who can benefit for more than 10 years with it. Also, we want our borders protected and I'm tired of paying taxes that those illegal immigrants never even thought of!!! I am not so ignorant as to think this all came about with the Obama presidency. I know Mr. Bush had his fair share. But, and I know this will make me verrryy unpopular, I think Mr. Bush did a stand up job. Mr. Obama is just making a bad situation worse!!!

Gifts to the UK

So, i have been brooding on the gifts that Obama gave to the prime minister of England and the queen. I know it's been awhile but come on... So, I really feel that Prime Minister Brown really put a lot of thought into the gift he gave Mr. Obama. I mean this is a priceless antique. A pen holder made from an anti-slave ship. A gift given to the first black President of the United States. That, dear folks, is class. And what does Obama give in return?? A box set of American videos that you can't even watch in the UK because they have a different system than ours??? Duhhhh.... Hello they drive on the left side and have the metric system in place!!! My biggest question though is... Why does the media keep making excuses for our President who I believe said was ashamed of the American citizens for not knowing foreign languages of the countries they visit!!! If ur so damn ashamed, why r u my president!!! Now the media is saying, well.... these videos were hand selected by a special team specifically for this gift. Serious?? Really?? This is what's in the box...




Uhm... yeah. Star Wars. Psycho. Vertigo. All great movies!!! Don't get me wrong. But for the British Prime Minister??? I am going to have to say I am deeply embarrassed by our President's lack of respect for our fellow leaders. And then to top it all off he give the 80something Queen of England an i-pod!!!








So, yeah it was pretty cool that there was every visit she ever made to the United States on it, but are you thinking what I'm thinking?? She's 80!!! Can she even see it??? And if she wanted to see her visits to America don't u think she could say hey!! James set that up for me. Geez!! These great gifts you could have bought @ Best Buy for $29.95!!! Give me a break.

Pit Bulls

So, my nephew bought a pit bull he named Jade. It irks me for ppl to buy animals they have no intentions of taking care of. In his case he thought it would make him cool. Although at this point I'm not sure anything could accomplish that!! lol Anyway, after discovering he couldn't take care of her he wanted to throw her away. So, being the animal lover I am I told him to bring her to me. I've never really liked pit bulls and I heard all the stories and made my assumptions about how they are dangerous animals that should be banned!!! There was even a postal worker who was attacked twice by the same pit bull who ended up retiring due to his injuries the second time. Some stupid owner who didn't want to take responsibility for his animal. Damn thing crashed threw a truck window to attack the carrier!! Then I started watching the Dog Whisperer. The brilliance of Cesar Milan and his rehabilitation of pit bulls. So, I wanted to give Jade a chance. She is 8 months old and a typical puppy. She chews and plays and was actually pretty docile. I currently have a German pinscher named Kaiba. (bigger than a miniature and smaller than a full doby) They got along okay. Until yesterday. I was bringing them in the house and I wanted to wipe their paws before they came in so they didn't get mud everywhere. Well Kaiba snipped at Jade and that's all it took. She went off baring her teeth, growling, hackles raised, the whole nine. She grabbed him up in her powerful jaws and shook him like a chew toy. I kicked her as hard as I could and she didn't even feel it. At that point I was afraid for myself because what if she turned her attention on me? I live alone and no one would know I was broke til my sister came over to see why I wasn't at work! Finally, she tried to get a better grip on him and he slipped away. He ran down the hall and got under my bed where she couldn't get to him. Then when she could no longer get to him her rage was erased, just that quick and she was wagging her tail at me ready for me to love her. It was crazy how quick she turned not only to the violent side but back to her docile side. Kaiba barely nipped at her and she was a raging maw of teeth. Then when he was out of sight she was happy go lucky Jade again. I can't make myself blame her fully. I mean let's face it; that's what she was bred for. To fight in a pit with a bull for the entertainment of sadistic humans for the almighty buck!! Ppl like Michael Vick who make this crazy (can u really call it a sport) hmmm... recreation (for lack of a better word) popular. I'm glad you went to jail for that you piece of crap!! However, it doesn't help my Kaiba who is laying in his crate with two broken ribs, muscle tearing and damage, and a hole in his chest now does it??? I made my nephew take her back. Believe it or not I still think Jade is a good dog. She just isn't able to be in a family with multiple animals, or kids, or older ppl. All I can say is lesson learned. No more pit bulls for me!!

This house was built by a post master in lexington, sc. I can't even imagine how he had the money to build this because i know what post master's make. They make a lot but i don't know about enough to build a million dollar home. This video states that the post office bought this house from an employee. Make no mistakes here. This was not from an employee!!! They bought this house from a Post Master. A manager. The Post Office would not condescend to do anything for its employees or work force that would include giving them 1.2 million dollars!! The postal service constantly blames the work force and the Unions for the down fall of the post office but they are buying million dollar houses from managers who are transferring!!! And voluntarily at that!! This post master took a customer services position in texas. so the higher up powers that be bought his house @ 1.2 million dollars so he could move there. In the process whenever a manager details or tranfers to a new location they are given $20,000 per quarter for per diem. That is the cost of their food, room, and transportation. I don't know about you but i don't ever remember it costing me $20,000 to move. Postal managers detail as much as every 90 days at which they are given an additional $20,000. That is $80,000 extra a year on top of their salary to detail to a position. Here in Amarillo we have a revolving door of post masters and plant managers. can any one of you tell me who the current post master is?? i can barely tell who it is and i work for the amarillo post office!!! In 90 more days there will be a new one and $20,000 more down the drain. Post Master General Potter is asking congress to privatize the post office and let them make it more like a business. We are NOT a business. We are a non-profit organiziation that provides a service for the public. Don't let this happen to the American people. The Unions are not to blame for the post office going under when all they want is for their members to be able to make a good living and provide for their families. They are not looking to get rich by taking perks (like $20,000 for a 90 day detail).
